How Kaviar keeps sensitive details on your computer
Kaviar replaces your sensitive details with fake ones before your message goes to the AI, then puts the real ones back in the answer. All of it on your computer. Here is exactly what happens, in the order it happens.
The flow

- You write.In Kaviar, with the model you picked. Nothing changes about how you work.
- Kaviar reads, on your computer.Before anything is sent, it reads the message and every attachment, and finds whatever shouldn't be sent.
- Each detail is replaced with a fake one.Marie Dubois becomes Claire Martin. Every fake detail has the exact shape of the real one. The mapping stays in memory on your computer and nowhere else.
- The AI receives the version with the fakes.It reads a normal message about a person who doesn't exist, and answers with full context.
- Kaviar restores the answer.Every fake detail in the reply becomes the real one again before you read it.
Levels
Three levels. One click to make an exception.
Standard.
Emails, phone numbers, addresses, IBANs and card numbers, official numbers (social security, passport, ID).
Enhanced.
Everything in Standard, plus people’s names, companies (clients, partners, employer) and dates.
Strict.
Everything in Enhanced, plus places (cities, regions, countries), GPS positions, major brands and amounts. The AI’s calculations stay correct.
Enhanced is the default. Any detail can be left visible with one click.
Proof
See exactly what the AI received.
Every message has an AI view. One click shows the version that was sent to the AI, with the number of details replaced.

The log
Every replacement, counted. Never the content.
The counter climbs as you work. The log breaks it down by type, in numbers. The information itself is never written anywhere.
Attachments
Files are protected before they upload.
Drop in any file. Kaviar protects it before it is sent, and tells you how many details it replaced.
Web search
Even web searches are protected.
When the AI needs the web, Kaviar runs the search and hands it protected results. The AI never sees what you were looking for.
Vault
Some words are always protected.
A project name, a client, a company. Put it in the Vault and it is swapped in every conversation, at every level. A second list does the opposite: words that must never be swapped.

Does Kaviar send my data to its own servers?
No. Everything happens on your computer. Your messages never pass through our servers.

Why fake details rather than blanks?
Because an AI that reads "Dear [NAME]" writes a worse letter than one that reads "Dear Ms Martin". Fake details keep the message natural, so the answer keeps its quality.
What does Kaviar detect?
Contact details and official numbers (emails, phone numbers, addresses, IBANs, card numbers, social security, passport), people’s and companies’ names, dates, and in Strict mode places, GPS positions, brands and amounts.
What if Kaviar misses something?
Select it in your message and it is swapped like everything else. Add it to the Vault to protect it in all your conversations.
Can I see what the AI received?
Yes. Every message has an AI view showing exactly what was sent to it.
Does it work with attachments?
Yes. Files are protected before they are sent and Kaviar tells you how many details it replaced.
Do I have to pay to be protected?
No. Protection is the same on every plan. Pro and Teams add AI credits, unlimited documents and team management.
How is this different from a DLP tool?
